The Playroom II
Το Playroom II ήταν ένα φωτογραφικό παιχνίδι που πραγματοποιήθηκε στον χώρο του Pikap, στη Θεσσαλονίκη, στο πλαίσιο της έκθεσης The Playroom, η οποία διοργανώθηκε από κοινού από το Hocus Photus και τις φωτογραφικές ομάδες της Θεσσαλονίκης Umbra και The False Mirror.
Οι συνθήκες φωτογράφισης ήταν εξαιρετικά δύσκολες: 17 άτομα συνωστίζονταν σε έναν χώρο μόλις 20 τετραγωνικών μέτρων, φωτισμένο με τον πιο κοινότυπο φωτισμό που θα μπορούσε κανείς να φανταστεί.
Μια σύντομη, δυναμική δράση, κατά την οποία οι συμμετέχοντες φωτογράφιζαν ελεύθερα και φωτογραφίζονταν οι ίδιοι, συγκεντρώνοντας το υλικό που θα αξιοποιούνταν σε δεύτερο χρόνο για τη διαμόρφωση ενός συλλογικού έργου.
Από τους 17 συμμετέχοντες που ξεκίνησαν τον «μαραθώνιο» της επεξεργασίας και της διαμόρφωσης μιας φωτογραφικής ιδέας μέχρι την ολοκλήρωσή της, οι τέσσερις που έφτασαν μέχρι το τέλος ήταν οι Iordanka Tenova, Βασίλης Καλλίας, Θανάσης Αθανασιάδης και Ιωάννης Πομάκης.
Το έργο που προέκυψε διαμόρφωσε τον χώρο του The Playroom II, το οποίο παρουσιάστηκε στο πλαίσιο της έκθεσης ΣΥμΠΛΕΓΜΑΤΑ, στην ετήσια έκθεση έργων του Δημιουργικού Δικτύου Hocus Photus.
Playroom II was a photographic game that took place at Pikap in Thessaloniki, Greece, as part of the exhibition The Playroom, jointly organised by Hocus Photus and the Thessaloniki-based photography groups Umbra and The False Mirror.
The photographic conditions were extremely challenging: 17 people crowded into a space of just 10 square metres, lit by the most commonplace lighting imaginable.
A brief, dynamic action in which participants photographed freely and were photographed themselves, gathering material to be used at a later stage in the creation of a collective artwork.
Of the 17 participants who embarked on the “marathon” of developing and shaping a photographic idea until it reached its final form, four saw the process through to completion: Iordanka Tenova, Vasilis Kallias, Thanasis Athanasiadis, and Ioannis Pomakis.
The resulting artwork shaped the space of The Playroom II, presented as part of the exhibition SYmPLEGMATA, the annual exhibition of works by the Hocus Photus Creative Network.
